Becca Cerra LLC provides one-of-a-kind creations that combine traditional craft practices with contemporary art-making approaches to imagine something truly unique and memorable. Becca currently works in two realms: conceptual art and functional sculpture. She teaches Blacksmithing and Welding classes at the Chicago Avenue Fire Arts Center and is eager to continue expanding her offerings.

Art and the Artist

I view the role of the artist to be: a disruptor; one who makes the unimaginable; the unthinkable possible; one who uses their art practice to challenge and defy the status quo

And I consider the purpose of art to be: to evoke raw emotions, thoughts, and feelings from the viewer; to awaken new perspectives, to make one question; to give a glimpse into others' experiences; to create empathy and understanding

What I stand for:

When you attend an exhibition or performance, commission me to make sculpture, take a class, or otherwise engage with Becca Cerra LLC you are directly supporting me - a Queer, Physically Disabled, Mentally Ill, Female Artist. Each of these identities have shaped my life and work. I hold each with pride.

  • You are also supporting the following beliefs:Black Lives Matter

  • White supremacy must be dismantled

  • No human is illegal

  • We are on sacred, stolen Indigenous land

  • The cycle of toxic masculinity must be broken

  • Gender is not a fixed binary and sexuality comes in many expressions

  • We must Defund the police and Fund Community-led Initiatives

In summary, when you engage with Becca Cerra LLC you are supporting the belief that every life is inherently valuable. And no one life is more valuable than another due to race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, ability, economic status, or any other factor.
